Greenroofs Ltd Mat System

Developed exclusively by Greenroofs Ltd (through BHC UK Ltd), Greenroofs Ltd Mat System consists of a biodegradable geotextile base layer, a specially formulated substrate layer and a plant layer of selected species, which consists mainly of sedum.

Once prepared, the system is grown in the field to create a vegetation 'blanket' or 'mat' that has a minimum of 90% mature plant cover. This product can then be cut to size, rolled, placed on pallets and transported to site.

Greenroofs Ltd Mat System works well on a roof as it will provide an instant ”green roof “, whereas plug planting will take take up to 9 months to achieve the same amount of coverage.

For this reason Greenroofs Ltd can only accept an order for the Mat System at least 12 months before it is needed so that the mat can be grown to the client’s specifications.

This Mat System also works well on banks and around the base of trees, where often not much else will grow.
