Waitakere Civic Centre,
Henderson

The Waitakere Civic Centre greenroof was installed in June 2006.

The area of the roof is 502m².

Native plants were used and special clay balls, imported from Germany, were used in the substrate. These balls are very lightweight but help to retain water.

Greenroofs Ltd supplied and installed the mixed substrate and provided some consultancy services for the project.
