Client Brief: To install the drainage material and growing medium to allow the University to plants native grasses and tussocks. The roof will help to purify rainwater before it is stored in tanks to be used for flushing toilets and irrigation elsewhere on site.

Completion: October 2009

Green roof Design: The area of the roof is 375m2. Native grasses and tussocks were used and planted in a substrate mix averaging 250mm to 300mm in depth.

Comments: Some maintenance will be required to ensure that weeds do not become dominant, until the planting is fully established.
